Wednesday Craft Night, June 23rd
It is getting close to the Mountain Market and I think we...well not WE....just ME, is getting panicked. I have been making children's skirts and dresses and J.P has been busy felting and creating. I am just going at a slower pace than I had hoped. We took a break from making our wares to work on a banner inspired from Amanada Soule's book, "Handmade Home".
Instead of using wool flags we recycled heavy cotton/linen curtains. We got as far as cutting the flags out
and sewing the casing. Now all that is left is the lettering and finding a nice leather string to thread through the banner.

Banner for July 1rst
As you all know we have a big Mountain Market that kicks off at our Fernie Canada Day Celebration. We have a table for us Wilde ladies and we need to make a banner. In the the end I think we discussed making a triangle flag banner that is so popular. If anyone would like to bring fabric to donate, any color, any print...that would be awsome!!! We need about 20 to 22 triangles so I dont think it will require much...See you this Wednesday!!!

Become a Contributor to Wilde Women Craft
As you all know I have been expanding in girth for the last 7 months and Ilan's little partner in crime is well on his way. I am hoping to keep up with the blog and Wilde Women Wednesdays but thought it might be fun to have members sign up as contributors. I am not exactly sure how I will proceed but the gist of it is that I will set up access to members so they can post under a Members category. This way, people can post their pictures and inspirations. Leave a comment to indicate your interest and I will get right on it! Another idea I have in mind is featuring local crafters on the blog to expand our little community. Use this post to share any ideas!!!
Whip UP Mini Quilts
I have to admit I love quilts but I am not sure I will ever move past simple quilting techniques of tying. I love the modern quilts with bold, fantastic fabrics, finished with fun free motion quilting but in terms of being something I could afford the time to....they remain on my "someday I will do this! list". With this being said, I am fascinated by the mini quilt. Whip Up has a book featuring amazing mini quilts that somehow seem a bit more manageable. Below is a great display of mini quilts that demonstrate how they can be displayed in the home. I have made a total of one mini quilt but would love to do more!

New name, new blog, same time! Wilde Women Wednesdays!!
Hello All who have found us here! It was a collective agreement that lead to a name change for us Wednesday ladies. Fernie Creative Minds is also the name for a local preschool and a dance group so we thought we would change the name to something a bit more racy! So here it is! WILDE WOMEN CRAFT presents Wilde Women Wednesdays at the Fernie Arts Station. I am not sure we are all wild but we all are our own brand of woman. Unique, fun and willing to try anything in the creative spirit! Admittedly, for the most part we are all moms, but all are welcome. Wilde Women Wednesdays is a reprieve from the everyday kid-ling routine and I always feels so honoured to share my company with strong, fun and loving women! See you next Wednesday for good chat, good craft and new ideas!
